SDI 4 Apps - Uptake of open geographic information through innovative services based on linked data

On May 17th in Cēsis, Latvia Vidzeme Planning Region (VPR) met with project SDI4Apps partners Baltic Solutions Center from Latvia and Czech Center for Science and Society from Czech Republic. During this meeting we discussed the possible cooperation with another project that is implemented by VPR – Interreg Baltic Sea Region Cooperation programme 2014-2020 project Capitalising on TENT core network corridors for prosperity, growth and cohesion (TENTacle) and elaborated ideas for organising a joint stakeholder conference in autumn 2016 in Vidzeme region in Latvia. Conference will be promoted towards potential SDI4Apps platform users – municipalities, organisations, institutes, companies, clusters and other interested parties whose everyday work could be facilitated by open data solutions, and the representatives of transport sector, who could benefit from the platform possibilities in developing solutions for transport planning.

Institute of Agricultural Resources and Economics was especially interested in one of the SDI4Apps pilot applications – Open Sensor Network that looks for effortless and straightforward utilization of existing sensors. Since the Institute is interested in developing precision farming, possibilities of SDI4Apps platform were discussed to gather and analyse data from the Institute’s selection fields.
