To support local and regional participants of tourism industry and to promote use of bicycle in recreation activities in Zemgale Planning region Tourism Application could be created. This Application could be developed based on Smart Points of Interest data base that combines multiple open data sources and provides information about bicycle routes and various object types interesting for tourists.
Cycling routes Tourism Application could perform various functions to benefit the user:
- Routing
- Possibility to add or edit objects by external users
- Possibility to add pictures
- Showing objects distance from current location
- Query by multiple criteria
- Classifying the significance of objects
- Possibility to select area with the highest density of certain type of objects
- Main cultural events nearby (events in Zemgale Planning region: http://www.travelzemgale.lv/?id=165&valoda=lv )
