SDI 4 Apps - Uptake of open geographic information through innovative services based on linked data

Standards, de-facto, ad-hoc or ‘proper’ aren’t much good without implementations.

In our series of posts leading up to the INSPIRE Hack in Barcelona that kicks of on Monday, we have been talking at length about Map Compositions and why they might be an interesting form of VGI. Now, that might be the case – but if the only tool that permits you to actually make a Map Composition is HSLayers NG, well, then the chances of the concept catching on is rather slim — wouldn’t you agree?

Therefore, we seek Python enthusiasts who are able to implement an import/export feature for map compositions using other tools. Where better to start than with the excellen Open Source QGIS?

See you all, virtually or physically, in Barcelona next week.
